Smoke Zones

Smoke zoning is a relatively new concept in Israel and as such it is sometimes overlooked in smoke and heat extraction plans. As and experienced firm in this field we are aware that in many projects in Israel Iskoor metal walls are set up as smoke zone partitions and improve the efficiency of sprinkler systems.

Every space should be divided to separate zones so hazardous smoke and heat can be efficiently extracted. A smoke safety zone is usually surrounded by special structural elements (such as smoke curtains) anchored to the ceiling. This airtight partition prevents the rising hot smoke and fumes from spreading near the ceiling. Thus the safe zone becomes relatively smoke free.

Such smoke free zones allow people to evacuate and leave the building safely during a fire.
